Snoring tends to be only an issue for a partner in bed, but it can be a warning for bigger issues. Most forms of snoring occur when a sleeper is on their back, or in the supine sleep position. Remedies will tend to focus on keeping suffers off their back, whether this is a sleep partner’s gentle (or not so gentle) nudge, or a back wedge.
Back wedges can work well and prevent movement onto the back, but in some cases, snoring may still occur when the sufferer is on their side, or if their partner is a particularly light sleeper.
Floatface and Snoring Relief
Utilizing the Floatface sleep system, the face is cradled in a comfortable face down position, whilst sleeping on the stomach. With a comfortable face-down sleep position for the snorer gravity acts favourable on the soft palette, the soft part of the upper mouth which will reverberate for people who tend to mouth breathe during sleep.
Other parts of the mouth which can act as airway restrictions are the tongue and tonsils. People with large tongue’s or at least the rear portion of their tongue can suffer from snoring too. Both your tongue and tonsils, along with the soft palette, can move backwards (under gravity) during sleep, and cause restrictive airflow resulting in snoring. In extreme cases Sleep Apnea will result.
Floatface and it’s stomach sleeping position, works with gravity, to improve airflow. In rare cases where mild snoring might occur, the sound would be directed downwards and away from frustrated sleep partners.
